FULL ITINERARY
Day 1: HOCHIMINH ARRIVAL
Our guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Hochiminh. Overnight in Hochiminh
Day 2: HOCHIMINH CITY TOUR (B, L)
Today, You will have opportunities to see the well-decorated CITY HALL (HOTEL DE VILLE), the old OPERA HOUSE (you will visit from the outside only), take a quick visit to the neo-Romanesque NOTRE CHURCH DAME CATHEDRAL and the CENTRAL POST OFFICE, all built by French people.
After that, we will come to see the modern architecture of REUNIFICATION PALACE. It used to be the residence of former Southern Vietnamese president. Also, from here, on the 30th April 1975, it witnessed the fall of Southern Vietnam Regime. Then, visit to Ho Chi Minh Campaign Museum. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will visit the most popular museum in Hochiminh city, WAR REMNANTS MUSEUM, it was known as War Crime Museum before to show people about horrible crime of American and Chinese invaders during the war time, but after that we decide to change the name into War Remnants Museum to avoid offending Chinese and American people when we normalized relationship with both of them. Final, you can visit Southeastern Armed Forces Museum Military Zone 7. Then take our bus back to your hotel. Overnight in Saigon
Day 3: CUCHI TUNNEL TOUR (B, L)
Leave your hotel at 8 am, we drive about more than 2 hours to Cuchi tunnels, passing through many beautiful countryside with rubber plantations, villages and rivers. On arrival Cuchi tunnels, you will enjoy a short introduction of documentary film to learn about history of the region. Then, we start our visit to this amazing tunnel system. Our guide will show you the secret entrance of the tunnels and the traps VC used to kill invaders.
While walking in Cuchi, you can hear shooting around like that the war still going on in the region, but not, that is the sound from a shooting range nearby, you can try some if you like, of course it doesn’t include in our tour and it is optional for you.
Visiting to Cuchi tunnels, you should not miss crawling through narrow and low tunnels, that is great time for you to experience the feeling of people living inside. Now, most of tunnels opened for tourists were widened and lit up with low power lights so it is safe and you can fit in easily.
Finish your tour to Cuchi tunnels with a small meal of cassava, the main local food for VC during the war. You can see a special kitchen invented by Hoangcam, this kitchen was designed to cook but doesn’t give out smoke, because US airplane often bombed when they saw smoke coming out, so this is ideal kitchen during the war for VC. After visit Cuchi, take our bus back to your hotel in Saigon. Overnight in Saigon
Day 4: HOCHIMINH CITY - FLY TO DANANG (B, L)
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the airport. On arrival Danang, our guide will welcome you at the airport and start half day city tour. You will have a chance to visit Ho Chi Minh & Zone 5 Military Museum, then Danang History Museum. After that, drive back to your hotel in Danang. Then it is free time to relax or go swimming at My Khe Beach (China beach). Overnight in Danang
Day 5 : DANANG - MY LAI MASSACRE - HOIAN (B, L)
Today, you will visit My Lai Massacre (or Pinkville). Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive to My Lai. It will take over 3 hours to get there. The massacre, which was later called "the most shocking episode of the Vietnam War". It was the Vietnam War mass killing of between 347 and 504 unarmed civilians in South Vietnam on March 16, 1968. After visit My Lai memorial, take our bus back to Hoian.Overnight in Hoian
Day 6 : HOIAN CITY TOUR (B, L)
8am: We will pick you up at your hotel and start our walking to the old town area, where you will visit many historical sites such as: Japanese Covered Bridge built by Japanese people to separate between Chinese quarter and Japanese Quarter, visit to one of the ancient houses, Fujian Assembly Hall where Chinese community often come to meet and pray for the Heaven Empress..,
Enjoy Hoian’s traditional dance and folk songs and pay a visit to one of nice museums here. It is a very nice walking when you can enjoy peaceful atmosphere of Hoian because at day time, Hoian becomes walking street, no car, no motobike was allowed to come here. Have lunch at a Vietnamese restaurant with Hoian special local food . Then back to your hotel in Hoian. Free time in the afternoon. Overnight in Hoian
Day 7 : HOIAN - HUE IN THE AFTERNOON (B)
Free time to relax in the morning. In the afternoon, our bus will transfer you from Hoian to Hue. Overnight in Hue
Day 8: HUE CITY TOUR (B, L)
In the morning, board a boat for a trip on the Perfume River to visit the towering Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the most famous Vietnamese landmarks.
We then take a short drive into a lush valley of the river where seven tombs were built for seven Nguyen emperors. Each is an expression of the unique personality of the man whose remains it holds and each is comprised of three elements: a temple dedicated to the worship of the deceased emperor and his queen, a stone stele that records the biographical and historical high points of his life, and the royal tomb itself. We will visit one of the tombs of emperors Minh Mang or Tu Duc before driving outside of town for a lunch of classic Hue cuisine at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we return to the center of Hué city. The massive Kinh Thanh Citadel is the most well known and iconic site in Hué. Begun in 1805 by Emperor Gia Long, it is actually a sprawling complex comprised of the Imperial City, several museums, lakes, and lovely gardens, all laid out in a series of concentric circles. We also visit the Forbidden Purple City, originally built in the early 1800s for the personal use of the emperor and staffed by eunuchs who posed no threat to the royal concubines. Nearly destroyed in the Tet Offensive, the ruins today house the Royal Library and the grounds flourish with mimosa plants and vegetable gardens.
Come back your hotel for refreshing. Overnight in Hue
Day 9: DMZ TOUR (B, L)
Leave your hotel in the morning; we head up to the Northern side of Hue city to the famous town of Dong Ha, Quang Tri province. On the way, our guide can show you so many historical relics. Arrive at Ben Hai River after 2 hours driving, we stop to walk on an old Hien Luong Bridge, this was only bridge to link between North and South of Vietnam, it was our desire to unify our country. 5 km wide on each side of Ben Hai River was DMZ; our guide will tell you a lot of interesting stories about this special place.
After learning a brief history of the region, we keep driving to Vinh Moc tunnels where local people lived and fought bravely during Vietnam War. Because Vinh Moc kept a key position in DMZ so that reason why both sides want to control this region. Every day American bombed on the ground that forced local people to go deeper and deeper underground to survive. That is an amazing land, the whole village moved to live there and 17 babies were born inside the tunnels.
We will stop at a local restaurant in Dong Ha town for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit Quang Tri Ancient Citadel where bloody fighting happened between VC troop and US, then visit Thach Han river where thousands of VC got killed during the war while they tried to cross the river to go further to the South.
Drive back Hue city and finish our Full day DMZ tour in the late afternoon. Overnight in Hue
Day 10: HUE - FLY TO HANOI (B)
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to the airport. On arrival Hanoi, our guide will welcome you at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 11: HANOI CITY TOUR (B, L)
Today, you will visit Museum Vietnam, French Quarter, Hoalo Prison Museum (Hanoi Hilton). Then enjoy your lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will have a chance to visit Vietnam Military History Museum, B52 Victory Museum and Vietnamese Air Force Museum. You will learn much about Vietnam War at these place. Tonight, enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 12: HANOI - HALONG (B, L, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, you will go to Halong bay. Arrive Halong bay at lunchtime, you will check into the boat to cruise around Halong bay and soak into fabulous scenery of this world heritage site. Halong bay is a breathtaking secluded bay with over 3, 000 limestone islands rising from the clear emerald waters of the Bac Bo gulf (gulf of Tonkin). It is one of the most magnificent scenic regions in Vietnam and had been listed as 1 of new 7 Wonders of the World. The area of about 1500 sq km is dotted with innumerable beaches and grottoes, created over thousands of year by the waves and wind. Stay overnight in Halong Bay Cruise.
Day 13: HALONG - HANOI (B, L)
Awake early and participate in Tai Chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea on sundeck. Have lunch on boat and say good bye to crews. Then our bus will drive back Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 14: HANOI DEPARTURE (B)
Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer to the airport to catch your flight back to your hometown. End of our services!
